Turkey photos

While in Istanbul, I had limited connectivity. Sorry for the delay in posting the photos. Istanbul was an interesting city. Very complicated. The streets were poorly labeled if at all. Part of what it made it so difficult for me was the fact that Turkish is so different from English that I couldn’t make heads or tails of what a sign may have read. I asked at the hotel how to say something simple (I thought) like ‘Thank You’ and when he said it,it took 30 seconds! Ok, not quite that long, but much longer than I could manage to learn on the spot.

The museums in Istanbul do not permit photos to be taken inside, so those are limited. The Hage Sofia was AMAZING! I wasn’t terribly impressed with Topkapi Palace, but the Dolmbace Palace was more Western. We did tour the harem in Dohlmbace, but again, no photos were allowed.

We will be more prompt with the Cairo pictures. In fact, when those get posted you can try to find the belly dancer(hint, look for my biggest grin!)
