Beach Life- places to go before and after Vanderbilt Beach
We enjoyed living walking distance from the beach in Naples and loved having our local beach parking pass. One of the really nice things about the beach was also all the fun things that are walking distance to the beach that we were able to enjoy. These places seem to have a bit of seasonal hours, so check the websites for the latest hours.
Naples Sunset at the Ritz-Carlton’s Gumbo Limbo
If you don’t want to get sandy or drag all of your stuff to the beach, then just find a spot at Gumbo Limbo. Their food is great, but the Naples Sunset and their other cocktails are the best way to wind down from a beach day or to start your vacation in Naples off right.
If you want something more casual or dog and kid friendly then check out these places. Dogs aren’t allowed on Vanderbilt Beach, however all of these places are dog-friendly.
Beach Box Cafe
The Beach Box Cafe is on the corner of Vanderbilt Beach and Gulfshore Drive. This makes it a perfect spot to go before or after your sunset to relax or anytime during the day. The pizzas are good, the service is a bit spotty or basically just on “island time” for the tables, but the bartenders are nice and they are very dog friendly. As we were prepping for our evening walk one Friday night, my dog Daisy was quite insistent that we go and get dinner there. Both she and Jake loved to just sit and people watch. Or maybe they just liked the pizza crust.
Fit and Fuel Cafe
Fit and Fuel Cafe is a popular stop for biker gangs…well bikers who wear lycra and not leather. The coffee is really good and they have excellent sandwich, smoothie and wrap options. They are also right next to the Naples Cyclery where you can rent a couple of bicycles to get down to the beach or tour a bit more of North Naples. Their hours vary a bit seasonally and by the day, so I would check the hours
Royal Scoop has a number of different locations. However, next to Fit and Fuel Cafe in the Pavilion Shoppes, you can top off your healthy lunch or breakfast or even stop by late into the night for ice cream. All of the flavors are good and nothing is better than ice cream on a hot Naples day.
