Sorry for being a bit late with these pictures. Yesterday was a lazy evening after loads of exploring. We went to Alexanderplatz and saw the World Clock and the TV Tower (the tallest building in Berlin). We stumbled upon the oldest building in Berlin, the nikolaikirche (St. Nicholas Church). We also saw the Burgermeister Residence called the Red Town Hall not for any Socialist reason, but because the bricks are red. We eventually found our way to the Schloss Charlottenburg. This was the residence of the first king and queen of Prussia. Many of the pieces are originals. It was ridiculously opulent. Just imagining the time it took to paint the ceilings was mind boggling.
Enjoy the pictures. Today is a travel day and we are off to Istanbul via Moscow.
