So, as you will have on round the world trips, especially where the most direct route isn’t an option, today the only goal is to get to Istanbul by 1:00 AM tomorrow morning.
So after packing and eating breakfast (I know, this is a thrilling day for those reading. 🙂 ) We took to the U-Bahn to the S-Bahn and waited in Friedrichstrasse for the Airport Express. We were lucky that we left early for our 1400 flight, since our 72 hour ABC Welcome card passes were only good until 1130AM. And the transport authority did check and gave one of our fellow passengers a hefty ticket!
After exiting at the station and not seeing an airport at all, we kept following the others with suitcases to the airport.
Since we were there so early, we waited outside the security gates, got to see a lady forgot her little yellow bag then try to thank the 6 security guards who had gathered around it after she had left it for 20 minutes. We headed through security and up to the Business Class lounge for free wi-fi! (Wi-fi in the airport was 6.49 Euros (about $10) for 60 mins.
After loading some pictures I worked on the last blog post then got on the flight to Moscow
We ate on the flight then had about the longest descent into Moscow, we went through passport control and security (laptops didn’t have to come out, but had to take shoes and jackets off). I guess this security procedure makes up for the shoes remaining on in Berlin.
Now, I am so excited about our free-wifi in the Moscow airport, I might just eat some cabbage pie!
